Outdoor Learning

Being outdoors encourages children to be imaginative and think creatively. Many children are more relaxed outside and this allows for more liberating and spontaneous play. There is also greater space for movement, children can be noisy and messy and the environment provides many ‘sparks’ for creativity.

As a school we align with the outdoors thinking philosophy:

Schools must make the most of being outdoors to nurture children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Educational settings must also have enthusiastic educators with a deep belief in the value of learning through real experiences and play outdoors and who share a commitment to upholding every child’s right to spend ample time outdoors every day throughout the year.
